Quick recap of April 13th, 2010

Kind of been dying to post again, yet I don't want to get overly anxious about this whole thing. After all, I don't wanna burn myself out on this venture. I'd actually like it to have some longevity. In any case, here's a short recap of things I've come across today.

1) Gears of War 3 - A poorly kept secret as of last week. Cliffy B was supposed to appear on the Jimmy Fallon  show on Thursday night at which point Gears 3 and Bulletstorm (developed for EA) were to be announced. Unfortunately due to some scheduling conflicts Cliff rescheduled for Monday night and Justin Bieber took his place on Thursday. I assume no one at Microsoft got the memo because a pop up announcing Gears 3 appeared on X-Box Live the following morning before being taken down. So rumors swirled and some info was even dropped via Edge magazine. Low and behold on Fallon last night Gears 3 was announced and given a release date of April 2011.  Check out the trailer below. Credit for the vid goes to Machinima!

2) Splinter Cell: Conviction sees it's launch today. I'm excited for this and my copy is sitting on my door stop right now just waiting for me to get home and open it. Maybe an official un-boxing post will be necessary later! In any case it's not all sunshine and rainbows for this launch. Already there have been reported problems with the game freezing in the second level of the single player campaign. This was reported via Kotaku earlier this afternoon. Thankfully X-Box Live support was all over this issue and it appears to no longer be an issue as of 4:30 p.m EST. Way to be on the ball X-Box Support.
